Start by visiting the town of Saint-Paul de Vence

Nestled between the emblematic cities of Provence, Saint-Paul de Vence is a village on the French Riviera that is full of treasures to discover!

The city and its
historical treasures

Is this your first stay in Saint-Paul de Vence? Start by discovering the city with the historical fountain, located near the guesthouse. Provençal in style, it sits at the heart of a square that was the heart of village life, since the 17ᵉ century. Nearby, continue your visit with the church of the Conversion of Saint Paul and the Folon Chapel. A stop at the cemetery will allow you to discover the tomb where the painter Marc Chagall rests.

Foundation
Maeght

An idea for a cultural outing? Discover the Marguerite and Aimé Maeght Foundation known as “Fondation Maeght”. The first private foundation dedicated to art in France, it consists of an architectural complex, entirely designed and financed by Aimé and Marguerite Maeght. Curious people and visitors will be able to discover a permanent collection of modern and contemporary art in all its forms.

The House of
Simone Signoret

The fame of Saint-Paul de Vence is also due to the mythical couple of French cinema formed by Simone Signoret and Yves Montand (the couple met at the Colombe d’Or, one day in August 1949). The most curious and the most nostalgic will be able to go to the n°2 of the rise of Castre, to discover their house.

The Hostellerie de la Fontaine is located 30 minutes by car from Nice airport (NCE-Côte d’Azur)

Visit the surroundings

Located between Nice and Cannes, Saint-Paul de Vence is an ideal starting point for visiting the region. Beach lovers will be delighted since the city is located about ten minutes drive from the beautiful beaches of the French Riviera (Juan-les-Pins Beach). In other words, visiting the emblematic cities is a must!

Museum Mâtisse

If you are thinking of visiting Nice, don’t miss the Mâtisse Museum. Inaugurated in 1963, the cultural center brings together collections that retrace Matisse’s artistic career, from his first painting “Still Life with Books” (1890) to one of his last works “Flowers and Fruit” (1952-1953). In addition to the works of art, don’t miss the bucolic setting of the gardens of the hill of Cimiez, located near the museum. A place where the painter used to walk, this garden is lined with hundred-year-old olive trees and ruins from the Roman era.
